We are searching for a Traveling Phlebotomist. This will be a traveling role, where the individual will be conducting health screens for their clients. Candidates must be flexible to travel out of state & all over Illinois. Travel costs will be covered for any job outside of a 75 mile radius from the candidate's home address. The day-to-day will consist of setting up & preparing draw sites at their client locations. When members arrive, the candidate will be required to ensure all of the necessary paperwork for the tests/screen is in place. The candidate will then take the member's Blood Pressure utilizing automatic/manual instruments. If the member is able to be drawn on (healthy BP), the candidate will perform venipuncture on the member. They will be drawing & processing the blood samples for EDTAs (Lavenders) & SSTs. This will require centrifuging followed by storing the sample in a 'member box'. The candidate will then ensure all of the paperwork is in order & include the proper paperwork with the proper blood sample. The candidate will then be required to take-down & wrap up the draw site properly and stay to help the rest of the team.
*Upon completing the training period, the candidates will be given their own bin (supplies), centrifuge, & roller cooler bags - which they will be responsible for transporting to their job sites*
The work flow is supposed to be 8 Members (screens) per hour. The volume of the site will vary, so will the team size. A smaller site will consist of 1-2 Phlebotomists (including Lead), an average site will consist of 3-4 Phlebotomists (including lead), and a large site will consist of 5-6 Phlebotomists (including Lead).
The travel will vary between Local & Travel. Local travel will consist of a 75 mile radius from the Candidate's home address - candidates are not compensated on mileage. Travel will consist of anything outside of a 75 mile radius from the Candidate's home address - travel is covered by the employer (transportation to & from and housing).
The schedule is pre-planned, as in they will need 'x' number of people for each job and candidates will know of their schedule in advance. *This is not a 'Call & Go' role.* The schedule will typically consist of 5 days/week with ~40 hour shifts - but this can vary dependent on location & jobs.
